his
rural
community
planned
an
exorcism

Admission
to
a
tertiary
care
hospital
revealed
an
adolescent
suffering
an
array
of
severe
psychiatric
symptoms
,
which
best
fit
the
diagnosis
of
reactive
attachment
disorder
(
RAD
)
.
The
differential
diagnosis
included
delusional
disorder
,
mood
problems
,
anxiety
,
schizophrenia
,
and
"
feral
child
"
syndrome
.
Nosology
and
pathophysiology
as
well
as
pharmacological
and
psychosocial
treatments
are
discussed
.
We
highlight
the
importance
of
early
life
events
in
determining
mental
health
risk
and
resiliency
.
