Kindler syndrome causing severe cicatricial ectropion.

with
Kindler
syndrome
presented
with
a
5
-
year
history
of
lower
eyelid
malposition
,
corneal
exposure
,
and
recurrent
erosions
.
Severe
anterior
lamellar
cicatricial
changes
were
noted
bilaterally
,
with
bilateral
lower
eyelid
ectropion
and
retraction
.
Tarsal
eversion
was
noted
on
the
left
lower
eyelid
.
The
patient
had
repeatedly
failed
conservative
treatments
for
keratopathy
and
was
treated
surgically
,
with
resolution
of
corneal
disease
and
improved
lower
eyelid
position
.
A
review
of
Kindler
syndrome
is
provided
,
geared
toward
the
oculoplastic
surgeon
who
may
participate
in
the
care
of
these
patients
.
