etiology

The

useful
in
finding
the
sites
of
involvement
in
the
skeleton
and
is
helpful
in
excluding
other
causes
of
bony
pain
.
Also
a
scintigraphic
pattern
consistent
with
ECD
should
alert
the
physician
to
evaluate
the
patient
for
visceral
sites
of
involvement
using
fludeoxyglucose
positron
emission
tomography
/
computed
tomography
(
FDG
PET
/
CT
)
,
as
this
is
known
to
be
fatal
at
times
.
